2. Read "The Legend of the Poinsettias" by Tomie dePala
3. Reflective Discussion "The Poinsettia has become a symbol of Christmas too many people all around the world. This flower comes from a country called Mexico. The Legend of the Poinsettias tells a story about a young girl who is upset because she cannot afford to give a gift to baby Jesus. An older woman explained that the importance of giving is not what misgiven, but that the gift is given from the heart. The little girl brought beautiful green plants to the church that bloomed at the altar into beautiful red flowers called poinsettias."
