Dot Designs Inspired By International Dot Day

Learning Targets:

I can...
  • Create a dot design using color mixing techniques learned in class
  • Use geometric shapes (square, triangle, circle, rectangle), space (positive, negative) and texture (soft/hard, thick in)
  • Use Mathematical Connections (diameter, radius, segment) to discuss concentric circles within Abstract Art
    • Define Expressionist (expressing emotions rather than pictures)

Lesson Activities:

1. Use A Paper Plate to trace & paint around Two Different Circles
2. Add One Color inside the center of the traced circle
3. Add One Concentric Ring around the outside of second traced circle
