In what ways can artwork create illusions? How can the development of a strong knowledge base aid in the ability to create illusions in artwork? Do you know what emotion the artist was trying to show? What do you notice about the painting?"
Lesson Activities
1. Choose 12" by 15" Drawing Paper2. Choose one fruit (apple, pear, orange) to draw the basic shapes (triangle, circle, rectangle, oval) of the stippling still life
3. Add horizon line in the background (table, folded drapery, wallpaper) to separate from the foreground

2. Use primary/secondary/intermediate colors (red, yellow, blue; green, purple, orange) to fill in the negative space (dishes, fruit, glasses) of the stippling still life
3. Use felt tip pens to add four shading techniques (hatching, cross-hatching, blending, stippling) to Stippling Still Life
Day Three, Art Start
1. Retrieve Stippling Still Life for Assigned Table
2. Set up Studio Area (markers, white out, pencils)
Lesson Activities
1. Add tints (adding white, reflective light, light source) to subject matter (fruit, dishes, glasses) of the value of the still life
2. Add shades (adding black, cast shadows, shadow) to background (fabric, wallpaper) of the value of the still life
3. Use drawing tool (kneaded erasers, oil pastels, pencils) to add details to the Stippling Still Life
