Learning Targets

I can...
  • Create a Ukrainian Faberge Egg using the Wax Resist Method learned in class
  • Use traditional colors (yellow, orange, green, black, red), line type (horizontal, vertical, diagonal), and implied texture (wood, fir, wheat) inspired by French Gold Smith (1846-1920) Peter Carl Faberge
  • Use design principles (repetition, movement, balance) relating to 13th Century Ukrainian Folk Art
  • Define Pysanka (egg decorated with designs using beeswax)

What type of traditions or festivities do you have during the Easter holiday? What was the first Faberge egg known as? What colors are traditional Orthodox Easter eggs dyed? 2. Use black glue bottles to outline the patterns (swirls, dots, stripes) inside the decorated egg
