Lesson One
Day One, Art Start
1. Black Rhinoceros (1983) Andy Warhol
2. Read National Geographic: Rare Portraits of Americans Endangered Species by Joel Sartore
3. Discussion Questions "Why is it important to protect endangered species and their habitat? Why do you think people candors to help these species thrive? Do we have endangered species or threatened species on or near our campus? What is the most serious problem facing earth? How can you help erase the problems of these endangered animals? What changes need to happen in the world? Do humans have an obligation to protect endangered species? Why or why not? How might decisions today affect the needs of future generations and the overall health of the world?"
Lesson Activities
1. Choose One 12" by 15" White Drawing Paper
2. Use pencils to draw contour lines of endangered animals (leopard, rhino, tiger) onto drawing paper
3. Use permanent marker to outline contour lines of endangered animals (leopard, rhinoceros, tiger)

Day Two, Art Start
1. Retrieve Andy Warhol Inspired Endangered Animal for Assigned Table
2. Read The Best Book of Endangered and Extinct Animals by Christine Gunzi
3. Discussion Questions "What is your favorite endangered species? How well does the work relate to the endangered species theme? How well do the elements of line and form work together? How does color enhance the artwork? How imaginatively does the work convey an idea or emotion?"

1. Use marker to finish outlining contour lines of endangered animals (rhino, leopard, tiger)
2. Use fluorescent colors (red, green, orange, yellow) to fill in positive space of endangered animal
3. Use fluorescent colors (red, green, orange, yellow) to fill in negative space of endangered animal
Day Three, Art Start
1. Retrieve Andy Warhol Inspired Endangered Animal for Assigned Table
2. Set Up Studio Area (paint brushes, water buckets, fluorescent paint)
