- Use geometric shapes (oval, triangle, circle, rectangle), line types (horizontal, vertical, diagonal), and value (lightness, darkness) inspired by Dutch Designer (1982-Present) Redmer Hoekstra
- Use computer techniques (image reference, photomontage, embellishments) and design principles (proportion, gradation, movement) based on Contemporary Art
- Define Morph (changing from one image another using small gradual steps)
Lesson One
Day One, Art Start
1. Book Owl (2014) Redmer Hoekstra2. Read The Whingdingdilly by Bill Peet
3. Discussion Questions "Where do your animal live? What three animals did you combine? What is your animal called (be sure to combine all three name)? What does your animal eat? Where does your animal live? What are three characteristics you would use to describe how your animal looks? What is the name of the first animal used? What is the name of the second animal used? What is the name of the third animal used? How about some hoof stripes for unity, gills for the face, or a zebra tail? What biome does your animal live? What kinds of plants would be in your biome? How did you combine different animal parts to create a mixed breed animal? Did you show values by having pressure of the pencil by showing highlights and shadows with complimentary colors? Did you create a center of interest at the eyes by adding a white reflection?"
